Measures to support accessibility

Petersen Training LLC takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of the Petersen Training website:

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure the accessibility of the Petersen Training website, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for the Petersen Training website:

  1. Reflow and responsive layouts: When content is significantly zoomed, the site requires horizontal scrolling and some text and images end up off-screen.  Since our site is designed through a third-party web design program (Wix), we do not control or have access to the code to make the necessary changes. During the next year, we will work with Wix to determine how to make the site more responsive. If you need to zoom significantly, please use the options to scroll horizontally to see all of the content, or contact us with specific requests at info@petersentraining.com.

  2. User interface components and graphical objects: We still have a few minor problems with contrast, images of text, aria labels, and some alternative text due to our lack of access to the background code on our Wix site. During the next year, we will work with Wix to determine how to fix these minor problems with the code. Please contact us with any specific problems you experience at info@petersentraining.com.

  3. Problems with a dialog box: The dialog currently requires users to click inside of it to interact with it. Keyboard focus must be set to the dialog when it appears. Otherwise, a keyboard user will not be able to interact with it.  This dialog box was created by a third-party marketing team to capture potential business leads and this feature is not designed for accessibility. We are working with our third-party marketing team to determine how they might make this box more accessible. We do not currently have a timeline for the resolution of this problem but will work with our marketing company to determine how they can resolve these problems. The dialog box appears when you try to navigate away from the home page; please have your keyboard focus set to the dialog when it appears. This will allow you to interact with it and close it as necessary.

  4. PDF Documents: Some links open PDF documents that may not be designed to be accessible because these are marketing documents that were developed before we pushed for website accessibility. We have listed these documents as future roadmap items to make them more accessible. Contact us at info@petersentraining.com or by phone at 801-390-7244 if you need information or help to determine what is contained in these PDF documents.
