Who we are
This website is operated by Petersen Training LLC, a Utah limited liability company headquartered in Ogden, Utah. We provide project management, leadership, and construction management training, simulation, assessment, and consulting services. References to "we," "us," and "our" mean Petersen Training LLC.

What we collect
Information you give us
When you submit one of our contact, quote-request, or federal-inquiry forms, you provide:
- Your name and email address (always required)
- The message or details you write in the free-text field
- Optionally: your company or agency, the workshop or service you're asking about, seat count, target timing, and (on the federal-inquiry form) a NAICS code
Form submissions are delivered to us by a third-party form processor (see Service providers we use below). We do not ask for, and our forms do not collect, sensitive categories of information such as Social Security numbers, government identification, payment card data, or health information.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard server logs: your IP address, user-agent string (browser and operating system), requested URL, and timestamp. These logs are used for security and operational purposes (for example, identifying outages or abuse).
We do not use web analytics, advertising pixels, behavioral tracking, fingerprinting, or social-media tracking tags on the public site. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and the effective date before doing so.
Cookies
The public marketing site does not set any cookies. You can browse the workshops, federal, about, blog, and contact pages without any cookies being placed on your device by us.
The administrative area, which is used only by Petersen Training staff to manage workshop sessions, sets a single first-party cookie named pt_admin_session. This cookie is HTTP-only (not readable from JavaScript), HMAC-signed, expires after seven days, and is used exclusively for staff sign-in. It is not used for tracking, advertising, profiling, or analytics.
How we use what we collect
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to your inquiry and follow up with the information you asked for
- Prepare quotes for public-workshop tickets, on-site delivery, or consulting engagements
- Schedule and confirm workshop sessions you've expressed interest in
- Maintain the security, reliability, and integrity of the site
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in. If we ever offer a newsletter or marketing list, joining will be opt-in only and you will be able to unsubscribe from every message we send.
Service providers we use
We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to operate the site. Each receives only the data necessary for its role:
- Formspree — receives your contact, quote, and federal-inquiry form submissions and forwards them to our inbox. Subject to Formspree's privacy policy.
- Stripe — when you click "Buy tickets" on a workshop session, you are redirected to a checkout page hosted by Stripe. Stripe (not Petersen Training) processes your payment and handles your card details. We never see, store, or have access to your payment card information. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
- Vercel — our hosting provider. Processes every HTTP request to the site and stores standard server logs as described above. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — the site loads the Manrope typeface from Google's font CDN. To serve the font file, Google receives your IP address, user-agent, and the referring URL. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share information only with the service providers listed above, and only as needed to operate the site. We may disclose information if we are legally required to (for example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order), or if disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our staff, or the public.
If Petersen Training is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of its assets, information may transfer to the successor entity. If that happens, we will notify users and update this policy.
How long we keep information
Form submissions are retained by our form processor (Formspree) per its retention practices, and by us in our internal records for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and maintain a business record. Administrative session data (workshop dates, locations, ticket links) is retained for as long as the session remains relevant to current or past customers. Server logs are retained per Vercel's retention policy.
You can request deletion of personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing info@petersentraining.com.
Security
We protect information in transit and at rest using standard practices:
- HTTPS everywhere — all pages and forms are served over encrypted connections
- HMAC-signed administrative sessions — staff sign-in cookies are signed and verified with a constant-time comparison
- Infrastructure-level access controls — our database and admin environment are scoped to authorized personnel
- No payment data on the site — payments are handled entirely by Stripe
No system can be made completely secure. We use commercially reasonable measures appropriate to the kinds of information we collect.
Your rights
All visitors, regardless of location, can email info@petersentraining.com to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Ask a question about this policy
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act:
- Right to know what categories of personal information we collect about you and how we use them. (This policy describes that.)
- Right to access or delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you have the right to confirm that with us.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact info@petersentraining.com. We will verify your identity (typically by confirming you control the email address associated with the information) and respond within the timelines required by California law.
Children's privacy
The Petersen Training website and services are intended for adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information to us, please contact info@petersentraining.com and we will delete it.
External links
The site links to external websites (for example, the organizations listed in our homepage logo strip, and the Stripe checkout page when you buy a ticket). Those sites are operated by third parties under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by revising the effective date at the top of this page, and — where appropriate — by a more prominent notice. Continued use of the site after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
