Practitioner first
Every facilitator is a senior PM or construction leader who has done the work. We do not subcontract teaching to people who have not run real projects.
Petersen Training was founded in 2018 to put the lessons of three decades of real project work into the hands of the people who'll deliver the next ones. We train, simulate, consult, and credential for federal agencies, prime contractors, energy and defense majors, manufacturers, and universities.
Long before Petersen Training existed, Denis Petersen and Dan Anderson were project and program managers in aerospace and automotive, learning how projects really succeed and really fail. Bill Bialcak was running missions in the U.S. Air Force.
They built Milestone Management Consultants together. After Milestone was acquired, Denis founded Petersen Training in 2018 to focus on what they kept coming back to: putting teams inside realistic project situations and walking them through the decisions, trade-offs, and recovery moves that separate the projects that land from the ones that do not.
Today we deliver workshops in person and online, custom-fit on-site to client teams, and run the full credentialing programs for the Project Management Institute and the National Association of Construction Professionals. The people who teach the workshops are the same people who run the consulting work. That's the whole point.

Adults learn project management by making project decisions and living with the consequences. Our training camps are built around multi-day simulations and debriefs.
On-site workshops are tailored to your industry, your processes, and your constraints. We adapt the exercises so the lessons land in your context.
Two of our three leaders are military veterans. Discipline, mission focus, and respect for the people we train shape everything we deliver.
The team you meet at proposal is the team that delivers the work.
